Our story
Tradition and innovation come together to create unique, high-quality products shaped by experience, research, and true artisanal care. We have always combined the knowledge of master glassblowers with modern techniques, while preserving the soul of our craft. Each creation is born from the meeting of time-honored gestures and a contemporary approach to design, resulting in ornaments that are made to inspire, endure, and stand out.
Bellagio glass ornaments, led by Iris Negrini, is the natural evolution of the historic Mortelmans company.
Founded in 1979, Mortelmans became a leading name in the field.
Later, thanks to the passion of Fausto Gilardoni, craftsman and master glassmaker, whose talent and attention to detail kept the tradition alive, the company also won prestigious international clients.
Today, with the help of his niece Vanna Bazzoni, the company carries on this precious artisan heritage, preserving with dedication and skill a craft that dates back to the 1970s and still enchants with its authenticity and timeless beauty.
This small workshop is the natural continuation of the original company, and it has never changed its handmade production methods.
That is why we can still make glass ornaments entirely by hand, each one truly one of a kind.
Glassblowing
The first step is blowing the glass. We start from a borosilicate glass tube, whose diameter and thickness depend on the piece we want to make. A few simple machines, the only ones used in the whole process, cut the tube into pieces of different lengths, ready to be blown.
Our glassblowers heat each piece with special flames, in exactly the right spots and for exactly the right time, and shape it into anything from a classic bauble to every form you can imagine.
Finishing and decoration
Once blown, each piece is finished according to its design: it can be silvered inside to shine like a mirror, then coated in its base color, glossy or matte.
Next, the piece passes into the hands of our decorators, who paint the final design on its surface with the right colors.
Finally, small accessories are added where needed, and the piece is packed.
We take great care in choosing the box and the packing materials, so that every ornament is well protected during shipping.
